Head in the Clouds (final remix) - your advice at work!

Hi everyone,
I'd like to make it clear that I really appreciate the advice and guidance you all provided when I posted my song, Head in the Clouds, a couple of weeks back. I took it all to heart and went back to the drawing board... remix is here:

Head in the Clouds (final remix)

Constructive criticisms, thoughts and comments are always welcome.
Thanks again!

The mix sounds really good on my speakers Paul. Very tight and punchy.
Not sure about the treatment on your vocals though: It makes it sound a bit closed in. Not a big crit though and it did'nt spoil my enjoyment.

    Good song and arrrangement.

Liked the song Paul - thought the vox didn't sit in the mix as well as could be - not sure what the correction is (perhaps added delay?), if needed, should be.  Well done.

Thanks for the listens and feedback - I'll try some effects experiments on the vocals to give them some space - my old trick was to bury my vocals in the mix, but I'm trying to get over that ;-)

I like this, but don't like the vocal treatment. +1 on too boxy.

Overall, it needs a good mastering job to widen things out, as the whole thing could use a some separation.

Thanks for the advice - I will commence vocal experiments this weekend - I'm trying to figure out if the boxiness is the effects or my voice!

    Hi All,
I wanted this done before the weekend was over - literally waited til the 11 hour.

I widened the stereo field to leave more room for the vocals. Lost some more of the mids on the 12 string guitars for the same reason. I pushed the drums back a little with reverb.  Finally, I killed the delay on the vocals and used a more reasonable reverb - I think I have a much clearer and natural sounding mix thanks to all the advice you provided. Use same link above to hear the latest version! Thanks again everyone!
