Headed to Tampa for Thanksgiving. Golf anyone?

Headed to the Tampa area to spend the Thanksgiving weekend with my neice (wife's family).  I  visited there once before.  It's a nice area, what little I was able to see.  We're traveling with my bro-in-law and we're taking our golf clubs.  I'm sure it will be good times.

It has  a crazy month here and I'm really looking forward to get away for a few days.  Anyone here in the CH gigging in the Tampa area over the weekend.  Might be a good opportunity to meet some of the CH family.  It's a 10 hour drive from NC and we will be arriving Thurs. morning, returning Saturday.

Regards,
Rich

Opps!  I forgot to mention I might be able to squeeze in an extra golf game if anyone is interested.  I really stink at golf but sure do enjoy playing.  I won't embarrass you to be seen with me, it's my short game and (3) putting that kill me.

Have fun down there. If you get bored check out Sam Ash in Clearwater at the Kapok Tree property... it is located within a funky old quasi classical architecture tropical theme dinner theater that Sam Ash now uses as a big boix retail store.

The selection of gear is about typical... but the setting is unique and fun.

    best regards,

Thanks for the tip Mike.  I just might need a fix to satisfy my gear lust while I'm there.

Next time you venture this way to the Blueridge Parkway you should look up Herb (Guitarhacker) or myself.  I know you were recently here and if you came up I95 you most likely might have come close to my neck of the woods.  Anyhow it'd be nice to meet other CH folk.

Rich - I've been in the area quite a few times because my sister has a vacation home in St. Petersburg. The things I would highly recommend would be:

    1. Visit the Salvador Dali museum in St. Peterburg. Best art gallery I've ever been too. Been twice... it's a mind-expanding experience.

    2. Find a good authentic Cuban restaurant. The Cuban sandwiches there are incredible. If you're on the St. Pete side, eat at this place.

    3. Ybor City is kind of fun, but is mainly party central at night.
    Have fun and travel safe!!

I lived in Tampa until 1965. It was a cool place to be a kid.
I especially liked Gasparilla, a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' type festival, named for the pirate Jose Gaspar, who made his home port in Tampa.

Shhhh! You're going to ruin the fun!

Happy Thanksgiving giving to all you fine CH folk!  You too Bapu & Mooch!  And I don't mean "fine" in a Bromance kinda way either .  Just clarifying that for the two of you Moob-a-licious guys

Everyone please be safe.  We don't need anymore of us mysteriously disappearing.

Have fun Rich!  If you happen to take a wrong turn and end up in Missouri for some reason, stop by.  There are some pretty nice golf courses around here, although it's supposed to be a bit chilly this weekend.

And believe me, against me, you'd look AMAZING on the golf course!  :-)

Thanks Janet.  If I do wind up in Mi-sou-ra I probably wouldn't even know it!  You'd have to "Show Me"

And yes!  I do look AMAZING on the golf course (got you fooled too).  My wife and I played golf one chilly 43 °F drizzly day.  THAT wasn't so fun.  However, I'm quite sure it's nice this time of year.  Leave out some extra dinner plates just in case (real china and silverware only please).

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to the Tampa area.  There's tons of stuff to do on your visit.  Have a blast and leave as much of your hard earned cash here with us as you can.

I don't play golf and I have my week planned for me, it seems.  So I can't take you up on your offer.

    Dave,
Thanks for the consideration.  Speaking of parting with my hard earned cash, my wife keeps hinting of taking our 6 year old to visit with Mickey.  Sheesh!  Keeping that in mind I'm sure I'll be back.

I can do the silverware, but the real china, I'm not so sure.  I hope that won't keep you away.

    Bring your saxophone!  :-)
