You guys and gals completely missed my point, and I am to blame for not being clearer. It was late, I had just downloaded it, and it was a
hairy knee jerk post.
I honestly could care less about VST3 ... or VST2 for that matter ... but when I see a company start to offer both the 'older' version and the 'newer' version of something ... it usually means the 'older' version is going to be phased out eventually. Happens all the time ... example, our yearly Sonar version number change.
@Karyn: That is a great question ... I couldn't imagine what VST3 has to offer for a bundle of mastering plug-in's? I haven't read up much on VST3 offerings, but from the bits and pieces I gathered upstairs, it's all about more in depth note manipulation on synth's and samplers ... I could be way wrong, like I said, I know next to nothing about the VST3 standard.
Bite your tongue Mr. Phase!

... IMO, Melda's limiter is every bit as transparent and usable as the $300 dollar big boys limiters. I do agree ... their interface is clunky, but for free, 64bit, rock solid stability, and the fact that they do sound good ... I think it's a fantastic deal. I'm from the school of thinking that if you need fancy tools to fix a mix, or complete a mastering job, you tracking wasn't right in the first place and needs to be redone ... but I'm not a piano player, although my father was a piano mover.
