Help Classify a Project?

Hey,

Here's a link to my latest EP.  All recorded entirely in Sonar X1.  This is the first time I've recorded anything like this so there were some serious learning curves--especially with the bass.

This is a fairly experimental project:  Bass, Drums, Synth.  I'm not sure what genre I'd call it.  It's loud, dissonant and dark.  I'm trying to figure out how to find people who may be into this kind of thing.

Well I listened to the whole EP and I'd say it's in the genre of Effin Brilliant.  That S*!@ is weird in a good way and very catchy.  I've never heard anything really like it before.  The whole EP is good but track 5 is stuck in my head.  The way every thing's mixed, you don't even notice there's no guitar,  it all works really well together.   Everything sounds good man, I really like the singer.  I'd honestly toss the $3 right now if I had it.  I'm laid off, but if my unemployment card will go through I'll buy it Tuesday.  Sorry I couldn't help you classify it but whatever it is, make sure you guys keep doing it.

    Thanks for the kind words.

We'll have more out soon.  When it cools off enough to turn off the AC in my garage.  :)

Does this mean it defies classification?  :)

Lol......I guess so man.  That's a good thing. I'm gonna go out on limb here and say, it definitely sounds 80's influenced to me (don't know if you intended that) but at the same time, it doesn't sound dated.  Some of it reminds me of Gary Numan, Skinny Puppy, Devo or Rush all combined.  All bands that I like, but like I said, it sounds cutting edge and I like it.  Listen to it everyday!

I dunno how to classify it either really, but I think that's a good thing. What I do know having had a quick listen to all the tracks is that I like it for sure. I'll come back for a proper listen when I have more time.
