Help Classifying This New Song
We can't decide what gender this should go to. Country Rock? Classic Rock? What do you think? Thanks for input! Sweet Caroline

Great song. Well done. I've played in many country bands and it wouldn't be considered country by the standards of when I played country. It has a pop flavoring as well. Maybe 'pop country rock.' Or to quote Billy Joel, 'it's still r&r.'

I dig the back up vocals, well balanced. After listing to that solo I'd say Southern Rock. At the beginning it had a Eagles/Jackson Browne feel. Either way great song

Thanks guys for listening. I don't like classifying music but I suppose we have to place the music in a category for it to be listened to. 2 songs down so far and 10 to go!

Country rock. Loved it, good job. Great vocals. Gave me a strong .38 special vibe, which is a good thing.

Whatever genre it is I really enjoyed it. If I had to pigeon-hole it I'd say rock country. Cheers, Terry.

It's early 80's "Crock", for sure, much in the style of the Belamy Brothers (Let Your Love Flow) and a little like Jackson Browne, even Alabama. I like it a lot! Great sounding mix!

Thanks everyone for the input on this!!! I will leave it as Country Rock cuz of the guitars. Speaking of, the Ibanez Prestige I'm using sure sounds good to me. Shelby didn't like my Strat on it but didn't say why.

When I brought it up on SoundClick, it said Southern Rock, which is close enough. No matter... I hate having to classify my things when I post. Anyway, this came out just fine, with some really tasty guitar work. Nice job.

A strat probably would have given it more of a country twang and taken the rock out of it.

Great song, Bill! I agree with Purple Rhapsody, rock-country with an edge. It would fit in a number of categories including classic rock, but it definitely deserves to be heard. The mix has all the elements of a radio ready hit. I like it so much that I'm going to listen to it again.

Southern Rock IMO. I like the more aggressive country stuff. This wasn't hard on the ears at all. Great job!

Liked this right off the bat Bill. Gave me a bit of Tom Cochrane vibe (the original 'Life is a Highway' dude). Great stuff. One little comment - the rhythm guitar in the right channel could come up a smidge. Tasty little Allman Bros style solo, that was sweeet.

I think the Southern Rock fits, but that really limits how broad the interest in this should be. I kept hearing Poco. Glen

This is great.... Love it, I don't suppose they'll play this before the bottom of the eighth inning at Fenway. For those who aren't familiar with this ritual: Sweet Caroline

It's not southern rock. That's been taken over. This is closer to red dirt than southern rock and closer to country than rock. Overall, I would say that this would fit nicely in a Vince Gill type of sound. Pretty cool song, definitely should be easy to place in a movie or ad...

Thanks Joshua, I'm so out of the loop as far as classifications go that I've never heard of red dirt. Mark, to me It's all rock and Roll! Thanks Beag! I wish I could say I wrote it but it's all Shelby Pace. I'm just the guitar player. Thank you Freddy! Hope the Holidays were as good for you as it was for me I'm by far the oldest in this band and they won't let me load or pick-up anything. Makes me feel even older and when I ask something they answer with "Yes Sir or No Sir". Maybe I should dress like them. That might help

Hi Bill, I listened to this tune a couple of days ago and liked it a lot ( I was expecting a Neil Diamond cover ) I didn't have time to comment then but I just tried to listen again and got this message: no such song, sorry. Anyway, I'd love to hear 'Sweet Caroline' again if you get the link fixed.
