Help! I'm pulling out my hair

..and I don't have much to start with!

OK.. here is the deal.  I've upgraded to X1.

I'm using Addictive Drums and dragging/dropping midi tracks into my project.  When I play it back it plays perfectly.  When I arm my guitar track and start to record, I get a delay in the playback of my MIDI drum tracks that corresponds with the exact count in on the metronome.

Example: if i set count in to 1 measure.. I hear click, click, click, click then dead air for a measure, then the midi drum track plays (but a measure behind what the now time is).

I've searched all over the web and find others have this problem and unfortunatly everyone always has the same response which is "just insert some empty measures and turn off the count in".  Even heard that there is a "bug" with the metronome.

This is completely unexceptable to me and here is why:
I have a template that I created that does NOT exibit this behavior!  At some point I had figured out the issue, fixed it, and saved the project template.  My problem is that I can't remember for the life of me what I did or where I did it to fix the issue!  I do remember it literally being a "one click fix".

Does ANYONE know what to do in order to fix this?  Yes, its true I have a template that doesn't do this but I'm guessing that most of you on here are like me and this type of thing will drive you crazy.  I was up until 3:30am looking/comparing all the options in preferences and finally threw in the towel.

This only happens on recording.. again, the playback is fine and its not a latency issue.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to assist with this.

    Hi,

Maybe it would work with the freezing option for your Addictive Drums track? At least until the x1b patch is released.

    Hope it helps

Freezing does work.. but I just don't get why I'm getting this thing to function correctly with my template but can't reproduce it on my own.

Sonar 8.5 does this to me with Izotope stutter (when I record, but not in playback).  I've just been ignoring it for now while I wait on X1b.

Also stop pulling out your hair, it won't fix anything, and it will make you look funny :)

Yep, had read this issue before and was surprised to see some ridicule upon the solution.

If you hear a count in then the recording begins, you need to turn that feature off, then all will stay in sync.

Go to preferences/project/metronome: under the general area turn record count in from 4 to zero.

To make X1 new projects to keep this feature and other things, every instance you start a new project, adjust all the features that make a new project a breeze, save as (place a N on your file name, then it next to your normal default) pull down project type to template, the pull down go to folder template again. Now your template for new projects will have all your settings

Well... the only problem with that option (which does work) is that I want the count in.  I know I can achieve the same thing by inserting an extra measure at the front of the project.. but I think its crazy that this is the solution.

Again, the thing that has me scratching my head and pulling the hair is that I have a template where everything "seems" identical but everything starts as and where  it should after the count in.

If this helps at all.. sometimes after the count in  I hear symbol trails (from the end of the 2 measure midi drum file) then the "blank space" for the 4 beats and then the drums.  Its almost like it is not "remembering" where it is.
