Help PLS- Audio will not play when Soft Synth User Interface open?!

Help PLS- Audio will not play when Soft Synth User Interface open?!

Hey all I am a recent P5 convert- I am running 64-bit Win 7 and Sonar 7 PE (I have updated with  avail. patches) and I am having a couple of weird issues I would really appreciate some help with...I have gone through the tutorials and actually tuned my computer to work with vst's but still some probs persist.

1. When I open the Soft Synth UI and attempt to play a sound or preview a sound I get nothing, however once I close the UI everything works fine? This is not a case of me having the VST routed incorrectly as they work fine until I open the UI.

2. My time cursor jumps forward and the clock skips forward, these two issue could be related...any help would be great- Thanks!


FYI- here are the options I have checked when setting up the VST- Midi Source, Synth Track Folder, First Synth Audio Output, Synth Property Page.

    1. which softsynth are you talking about?  what do you mean by everything works fine if you close the UI?  how are you hearing the output?  what are you using for input to the softsynth?

    2. press the PAUSE button on your keyboard.

    also tell us about your computer and soundcard.

    It sounds like you're running the 64 bit version of SONAR and the vst is opening through bit bridge. Am I right? This is actually normal and with version 7, that's the older rev of Bit Bridge.

    Thanks all for the help-  it turned out I needed to update my soundcard drivers to run 64-bit. Helpful Info from the forum- Thanks!
