Help Please!!!

Hello i have Roland BK5; Boss VE 20; Shure SM58; Cakewalk vs 100 and Sonar X2 Producer to do some music production in a home studio.
Can you give me te more effective way to link al these together?
Cakewalk VS100 to Pc with USB (no questions there )
a) Shure Mic to Boss VE20 to BK5 then to VS100? or Mic to Boss VE20 then direct to VS 100?

b) Roland BK5 conect with both midi (in and out) to VS100 and also the line jacks from BK5 to Input 3L and 4R in the VS100 or Roland BK5 to VS100 only with the Jacks from Roland BK5 to Input 3L/4R in the VS100 without the midi conection?

3) The conections for the mic...which work best? the 1/4 jack input to the Boss VE20 or the 3 Pin? the same for conection to the VS100?

Please help
I know about music perfomance bur little abour interface and studio assembly.
Thanks

When you have the choice, it's better to go with XLR cables/connections (what you call '3 pin').

Your SM58 mic cable should already be XLR ? so that goes into the Boss VE20, then a pair of XLR cables (the VE20 is stereo out) from the VE20 to ...
[I'll let others who have it tell you about things at the Vs100 end].

I consider the VE20 more of a live performance processor. With Sonar, you're probably better off recording vocals as dry and clean as possible, then play with effects inside Sonar when mixing them with the rest.

The VS 100 has 8 inputs and 6 outputs. You could run your vocal direct to the input on the vs 100 so you can record the direct signal. Route it directly to one of your outputs and send that output to your Vocal Pedal, then return from the vocal pedal to the VS 100. The pedal output is stereo, so you'll want to run both Left and Right outputs back into your VS 100. You can monitor just these two channels if you want, regarding the vocals. I don't know what the Roland BKS is. Drum machine? Not sure. Keyboard? If it's a keyboard, I'd probably just run to the midi in and play it directly. The midi out is only necessary if you are recording automation that you want to play back on your keyboard. Like a motorized fader that you want to follow what you had already recorded. I'd probably skip recording the stereo left and right tracks out of the keyboard unless you want to catch the sound of the midi synths. Most of the Software Synths in Sonar rock. I'd just use those myself.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I will hook up the mic and Boss VE20 as you said to the VS1100
The BK5 is a keyborad and my question is for use with sonar (to be able to record WAV and midi) if i should use both midi (in and out) and line out jack's to make the conections through the VS100

Thanks fot the input

You'll probably find that the effects available within Sonar are better/cleaner (and certainly more diverse) than the ones present in the VE20.

My daughter also has the VE20 and it's nice for singing live but it's hard to do anything good in Sonar
if she gives me a vocal track that has been recorded with effects through the VE20.

Yeah!
I will connect the mic directly to sonar through VS100 without the Boss VE vocal processor
The Sonar effects are much better for sound processing and production
The Boss VE 20 will use for live performance with the Roland BK5 and for fun effects with the family
Again...Thank's for your time and help
