Help ! Re-Wire Problem !

Hi guys,

I have a Problem with Rewire in Sonar X1, i read a lot about it but my problem is a basic one: there is no active ReWire Device in my Insert Tab at all. it looks like that Sonar dont recognize my FL 10 or Reason 5.

(I can use FL as a VSTi plugin and ReWire FL (as host) with Reason, but my ReWire Device feature in Sonar is always inactive)

Where is the Problem guys,hoom?

are you using 32bit sonar or 64bit sonar?

There is no 64-bit rewire yet, unfortunately. Propellerhead are making it available at the end of September, but I think that's only for people who buy the new version. When Sonar will add 64-bit rewire support isn't yet clear.

that's why.  rewire doesn't work in 64bit yet.  it's supposed to be coming in sept (?) I think, but even then sonar will not likely be updated to support 64bit rewire until the next paid update (X2 or whatever they call it) or not...there's been no talk directly from cake about it that I'm aware of.

change to 32bit sonar and rewire will work.

Yeah, it's a drag, I know. I have both 64 bit and 32 bit Sonar installed in case I really need to use Reason for something. In practice, this has meant I've been using Reason less and less.

that happend to me too. i had alot of fun with Reason. i really dont miss it though, so much has come out since 4 as far as samples and soundsets go, Reason got left in the dust sound wise. i just pretty much outgrew the program. i dont know how to make Reason not sound like Reason..

I wouldn't be surprised if cakewalk provide 64bit Rewire support very quickly after propellorheads release rewire for x64.

They collaborated very closely to get Rex 2 out with 64 bit support. Perhaps there have been mutual problems to delay the incorporation of 64 bit rewire to date.

I like it a lot, but to some extent, I'm glad I got (involuntarily) weaned off it now. I've done a lot more exploring other synths as a result.

Might want to check out ReWire VST. It enables the use of ReWire programs in 64 bit versions of Sonar. I use it to run Reason all the time.

I've been using this little beauty successfully with Sonar X1 x64.

Rewire VST. It makes Reason act like a VST within Sonar. It's not perfect but it does work. Maybe try the demo.

Edit: Oops sorry, Benjaminfrog, I didn't see your post. I was so excited to be helpful I skipped over the rest!
