Help With Soft Synths

I'm not getting all the program sounds out of the synths. Only some of them. This can't be right. What do I need to do reinstall the soft synth samples? Please help and thanks in advance!!!

Bill, make sure they're not in your downloads file.  Perhaps you could go to the manufacturer's site and download them again.  Which synths?  If they're Sonar's, then go to command center.  Good luck.

    All the best,

What soft synths are you specifically speaking of ?
A little more detail might help in getting responses.

I'll take a guess that you're talking about Dimension Pro and/or Rapture, based on your use of the word "programs" (these are the only two synths I know of that use that particular term rather than "patches" or "instruments").

First, check if all the samples are present. Dim Pro's samples are (by default) in \program files\cakewalk\dimension pro\multisamples. I count 12,932 files in that tree and 3,380,417,240 bytes.

Next, check if the programs are present. Programs are in \programdata\cakewalk\dimension pro\programs. I count 1,563 files and 12,442,135 bytes there.

    Rapture's samples are in \program files\cakewalk\rapture\multisamples. I show 278 files and 1,283,843 bytes there.
    Rapture's programs are in \programdata\cakewalk\rapture\programs. I list 634 files and 14,295,358 bytes.

If they're all there, then re-installation probably won't help. Another possibility is that Dim Pro or Rapture don't know where to look for the samples and/or programs. That information is in the system registry, and it's unlikely that would have you accidentally changed it.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I can confirm bitflippers file counts, same values here. :-)
Session Drummer has the "Program" term as well, btw. ^^

But like lynn and kingsmix already said: what synth(s) are we talking about? This would be a great help. :-D
