Help With Sonar Producer - Garritan PO - EMU 1616 Soundcard Interaction

Does anyone run Sonar Producer with an EMU 1616 card that has had success running Garritan Personal Orchestra?  I call PO up in FX bin of an audio track of Sonar.  I set my midi track with recorded data that I want to play thru the PO in Sonar output to the same channel that I have set as input in PO.  I set the output in PO to a 15/16.  I open up an input strip in EMU to 15/16.  I insert an output in the 15/16 input strip of EMU to some ASIO, like 1/2.  I go to the Sonar audio track where the FX bin is and put the ASIO 1/2 as my output.  No sound when I play the Sonar midi track.

If someone has this same set up and can walk me thru it step by step I would be very appreciative after spending hours trying to figure it out now.

Thanks,

Hi Van1, I can't help with regard to the soundcard but I always use GPO as a VST instrument, not an audio effect. Hope that helps.

While it is possible to add synths to the FX Rack, I believe most use the newer method which does not involve the FX Rack. Refer to the documentation on inserting soft synths.

Thank you.  Yes, I followed the instructions for inserting soft synths as outlined in my 1st thread, and yes PO is a VST.

I am pretty sure the problem is in the EMU sound card, which is always difficult for me to configure properly.

FWIW, adding a synth to an existing audio track's FX bin isn't the norm.  If that's what you meant in your OP.  Instead, insert GPO as a synth as in scook's link.

Anyhow, aside from that, the the first thing to check is that your modulation wheel isn't all the way down - that's essentially zero volume in GPO terms.
