Help for Dimension Pro Newbie?

I know this is probably going to sound stupid to you but I have looked at every startup and quickstart guide in the software and online and they all explain how to use the GUI, my question is HOW do you get to the GUI in the first place? I have Sonar 6 do I need to open it through that? No documentation seems to exist explaining the basics.

From the main page of a Sonar project:

    Insert - Softsynths - Dimension - Pro

You will be presented with a dialog box. Accept all the default checkmarks. Now Sonar will create 2 tracks, an audio track and a MIDI track. It will also open Dimension Pro and present you with the GUI.

I always use these softsynths with a host like Sonar or P5, but I believe you can also use them standalone.

    Hope that helps!

There are whole chapters in the manual devoted to using soft synths.

You're certainly welcome. I'm chuckling a little bit. Not more than a year ago I was completely in the dark about all of this stuff. By asking a ton of questions (mostly on the Home Studio forum - a few really great guys over there who will patiently help newbies) and reading Scott Garrigus' "Sonar x (where x is the version of Sonar you have) Power", I have learned at least some of this stuff.

So I'm just following the rule: "Someone helped me, now I pass it along".

Here's the best tip ever: If you are a Sonar user, do yourself a huge favor and pick up the "Sonar [x] Power" book for your particular version of Sonar by Scott Garrigus. It's the "bible" for Sonar users in my opinion.

Dimension Pro at this time is not Stand alone. Rapture has its own microhost and Z3TA+ but not DP yet.

Try Savi-Host (Click Me!) until there is a native micr-host.
    Works fine for me.

    My site i guess;)
