Help!

I just finished downloading windows media 10 which seems to have turned into 11, now my cakewalk worked for a day after download and suddenly today its flipping out and will not play any of my tracks. I have wild blinking, and crazy run-ons if it does start. The stop funtion stops when it whats...etc. I removed the Cakewalk to try to fix it. I re-installed the old DirectX 9.0.... But to no avail... I still can not get the sound to work. I have MME interface on. I have ran thru the enable audio outputs so many times I think I am an audio output. i have set my project tracks to no avail....and i go to play my tracks and still am sitting here in silence.
PLEASE tell me its not me ....

If you have WinXP, I would suggest using a restore point prior to the installation you just did.
