Help me pick a new rig

I've been using Sonar/Cakewalk for years and my old XP-box with a Layla24/96 is kind of getting near the end.  I need to buy a new Win7 PC and probably a newer Layla-ish sound-card (I've been really happy with the Layla).

Does anyone have any links/suggestions to which would be a great machine to buy?

My last PC did run into some compatibility issues and in talking with Cakewalk support it just became things I had to live with - so I realize picking the right machine is important.

Any help appreciated.

hire a local PC guru to build you a custom machine for exactly what you want.
    that's what i did.

do some basic homework, so you know what you want.
anybody can buy/build the pieces/parts you need.
thing is, you want someone who can trouble shoot for you after you get everything installed, and get to using it.
