Help me re-assign USB MIDI connection

Recently, I had to unplug my USB MIDI connector, and - of course - I can't find the same USB port it was plugged into. So now X2 is giving me the message that it can't find the USB MIDI connector, etc. even thoiugh it is there.

Any thoughts on how to re-assign this - not just for future projects - but also for existing ones?

Thanks in advance.

Did you start PC with the MIDI connected or unconnected? I think if you plug it in after you've launched PC/SONAR, it will "re-scan" the port...or then not :o/

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

USB MIDI device is connected. The computer recognizes it, Sonar recognizes it - but now as the one chosen for the past projects and the current Normal template.

Some things are a pain. However, issues like this take longer to troubleshoot and research than they take to just redo it all again, or change and save templates/projects to the new mappings as you go along. I have a Midiman 4x4, and I've thought about gluing the USB cables into the ports so they never get yanked out!

Try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling on the new port (remember which port you used this time). Beyond that if you see the device in the list in Sonar it should just use it where it's needed.

Yeah - I might just try an uninstall and re-install.
