Help me understand how to hang out and speculate about X1
Should I ask probing question about envelopes, beatscape and notation?
Should I ask if it works with my soundblaster on board Realtek shoundcard?
Should I just let you all tell me I'm not cool/smart enough to use X1 because I never cut holes in a song and want to move all my automaton, hence I must not be a power user and therefore am not deserving of your time or experience?
Or, should I just waste wait 22 more days and decide for myself?

You could write an exhaustive treatise comparing and contrasting Sonar X1 with Microsoft Paint. Make sure to include several extraordinarily harsh illogical judgements about the mental capacities and genetic heritage of the Cakewalk Bakers regarding hypothetical bugs and non-sensical features that may or may not exist in X1. Of course, you should end your dissertation with a conclusion totally and completely devoid of any factual or logical foundation whatsoever.
With your remaining time, you could vigorously defend your arguments, insult anyone and everyone who has the audacity to think for themselves, and then, rather pompously, declare victory.
That should leave you only 21 more days to wait.

Bapu: should I just waste wait? NO.. because Cakewalk wants us to purchase NOW ask questions later. Here's Cakewalk Marketing Strategy for X1... Customer get's an Email shortly after X1 is announced (but not yet released); upgrade now to get X1 free, the customer has HomeStudio but cannot decide which upgrade path to take; (Studio or Producer?) to get X1(Studio?/Producer?) free, or wait to get the upgrade directly to; X1 Essential. Cakewalk cannot see that their release strategy (Marketing) is like putting 'the cart before the horse'?. CW honestly thinks their customers are going to blindly upgrade before getting the details to help customers decide which upgrade path to take? or not upgrade at all? Cakewalk, where are all the details... . What exactly are T-Series Effects? The Toys R Us Toe Tappers . What exactly is the RGC-Suite? The Roland Groove Cats . What exactly are the Essential Effects? Huey, Duey and Louie . What exactly are the Producer Effects? LA2B and the Dynamic Duo . What exactly are the Channel Strip Effects? Yodeling Vocoder and the Castrato' . What exactly are the Mastering Effects? Boost12+ the Dynamic Duo ------------------------ I hope next year Cakewalk will have a much better marketing strategy. Get the details posted on release of new products before asking customers to upgrade. - So anyway... I'm waiting till March next year before I upgrade, I hope X1 turns out to be the best DAW ever. :) -

I shall be making the move to X1 more than for any other reason.
I don't know when however as I've never been an early adopter, preferring to rise later in the day than most.
I do hope that the flavour of the gum on the envelopes is much improved, though. I shall take the chance as to whether X1 is Realtek aware yet as it's not a deal breaker for me.
FWIW, I am a power user because not only have I cut a hole in a record I've also moulded a vinyl LP into the shape of a hat before.
