Help setting up Midi Shaper in Sonar

As usual the videos are for Ableton Live and I haven't set up this kind of midi effect in months or years.

    Here is what I just tried and it worked.
     
     
    Put plug-in is VST scan path
     
    perform VST scan
     
    check "Configure as synth" in midishaper VST properties
     
    Edit registry, locate Midishaper.dll (and/or MidiShaper-64.dll) in VST inventory and set generateEvents to 1 (this is the tricky bit)
     
    Add audio track and drop Midishaper into the FX bin
     
    Enable MIDI out on Midishaper in the synth rack
     
    Add synth to project, set input to Omni and record. Both the midishaper and keyboard input will be recorded at that time.

    How the hell did you figure that out? I can do it but I just thought it would be a simple routing thing.
    I am demo-ing this now to see if I want it.

    I have used other plug-ins that generate MIDI events. It almost took longer to type my post that test the plug-in.
