Help with Automation Snapshots

This is my first venture into Automation Snapshots.  I watched the SWA videos and read the X3 documentation.  Sounds straight forward.  But of course, my mileage is varying...
 
So I have a guitar track.  I set the now time to 3:1:0 and set the volume fader to -10db.  I take a snapshot.
 
Then I set the now time to 11:1:0 and the volume to -12db.  I take a snapshot.  (Both in Console view...)
 
I go to track view and verify that there is a volume envelope on the track.  It has both nodes and looks good EXCEPT that the line is dotted, not solid.  I play back the first 11 bars.  The fader doesn't change at bar 11.  (Yes, I have Automation Read enabled...)
 
It's like Snapshot doesn't create a real envelope...  How do I make the line solid, the nodes real, and get Sonar to follow directions?
