Help with MIDI not playing in Matrix...SOLVED

Hey all! So I'm a little new to the matrix but wondering thoughts. I'll create a midi track that's perfectly 8 measures and slide it over to the matrix. While I'm playing with a Matrix performance, right before the 8th beat ends, I'll click on the cell and when it transition over back to the beginning, sometimes I don't hear the first note. So the midi notes are just whole notes but that means there's a measure with nothing being played. By the next measure it catches up and when it repeats, it plays that note. It just doesn't do it when I first switch over.

    Kept playing around and found a workaround. If I right click on the MIDI and choose "Convert MIDI to Step Sequencer" for some reason it seems to work on the matrix. I tried multiple scenarios and the MIDI always plays now. How bizarre. :)

    that one aspect of matrix makes me pull my hair out!!!

    Going to try this when I get home-My Matrix cells won't playback any of my hardware synths, just soft synths and I am pulling my hair out for 3 weeks now!
