Help with Radial Pro DI Passive

I bought this box with this purpose in mind, to plug my guitar into a few effects then into the DI and into an XLR input on mu interface. Easy enough right? The issue is that I don't get a signal out of the DI. It's supposed to work according to info I read on the Radial website. You should be able to connect a DI after your effects right? If I plug directly in the DI no problem as expected.
The effects I'm using for this particular application is as follows:
Love Squeeze Comp to Empress EQ to the DI. I only get a signal when the effects are bypassed. I tested my TC Electronics Nova Repeater and that works fine. Guitar to Nove to DI.
I tried the Comp and Para EQ separately with same results, no signal. With just my Vox Ice 9 connected I get no signal even if the effect is bypassed. I'm confused.
I read the rule is: Active instrument passive DI. Passive instrument Active DI.
It doesn't matter in my case because I tested it with both type instruments. I wish I can say the DI is defective but I don't think so.
Could it be a buffer thing with these peddels?
Thanks

From what you described it sounds like one of your pedals is not functioning.
You sort of figured that out , right?
And just a note, if your interface has a instrument input there is no reason to use a DI.
A DI box is mostly used for live sound when you need to send your instrument level ( hi impedance) signal over a long cable run. So you need to convert it to a lo impedance signal to eliminate possible RF interference over the long run.
If your audio interface does not have hi impedance inputs then a DI box can be used to convert the signal. But most audio interfaces are made with guitar and keyboard players in mind and have the correct connection.

Guitar effects are made for guitar hi impedance signals, passive of active should make little difference to a well designed pedal.
If the DI works when you plug your guitar directly into it then that's your answer.

Sounds more like there's no power to the compressor pedal. Are you using a A/C adaptor or a battery?

And make sure you don't have phantom power at the interface on.

Thanks JohnnyV. I'll give you the moral of the story first. At age 59 do not attempt any kind of technical stuff at 7 in the morning.

I was plugging my guitar into the output of my effects. Yes it's that dumb. I connected them backwards. The reason why my TC Nova worked is because I had the connections right. Unbelievable. I feel really stupid and am embarrassed to have to tell you this.

    Thanks.
