Help with SONAR + Boss ME-25 effects pedal through PC soundcard.

Hey guys, hope someone can help. I've got Sonar LE which came with the BOSS ME-25 multiple guitar effects pedal. The problem I've got is that everything records OK and plays back fine through the speakers, but when recording I can only hear the guitar through the headphones which are connected to the ME-25. As you'd imagine, it's making recording multi-track projects damn near immpossible. I have the ME-25 set-up with SONAR as the in and out, but I've also tried it with various configurations but nothing seems to work. I've even tried it on 2 separate computers, one with Vista and one with windows 7. They are both more than capable of processing as they are both 2 cores with 2.5 GB RAM. The second one, which is actually a laptop which is the one running windows 7 is the one I want to use. I have it connected via HDMI into a SONY BRAVIA which is then been routed out into a 2.1 speaker system, which is what I also plug my ME-25 directly when not using the computer and it sound brutal coming out of those speakers but when I try and play it through the computer it won't come through, only during playback of what's been recorded. I've been into control panel and set the ME-25 as the in and the HDMI soundcard as the out amongst other things to no avail. I'm at my wit's end as I'm no dummy when it comes to configuring software normally, and I imagine it's probably something irritatingly simple that I'm just not getting my head round, so if there's anyone here that can help me out so I can finally begin to enjoy the program I would much appreciate it and be eternally grateful.
