True story:
My wife - long before I knew her, when she was a pre-teen, was feeding bread crumbs to geese at a park. she was holding the pieces out in front of her with one hand and had the rest of the bread in her other hand tucked behind her back. little did she know that one of the smarter ones had circled around her and snuck up behind her. it bit her hand while trying to get to the bread and of course scared the bejeebers out of her!
Ducks and geese are smart. they are watching us.

BUT
I hate it when someone says "True story". I think that everything they have told me up to that point must have been a lie.
I also hate
Hot Water Heater (technically a cold water heater)
PIN Number (personal identification number number)
AND
Pre-prepared food (if prepared food is cooked, then is pre-prepared food raw?)
I also once saw a sign that said "learn to SCUBA" which I think said "Learn to self contained underwater breathing apparatus"
What is up with these folks?
As all of you may or may not know (got everyone with that hedge) I work in the shtock market. I once saw a newspaper headline in the Atlanta Constipation (or whatever they call it up there) that said
"Value Jet Not Expected to Deliver Earnings Surprise". Uh, if you expect it, could it possibly a surprise?
Dr Rousopolous, my prof of Computer Architecture back in the 70s, once said "everything unchanged remains the same".
Now that I think about it, all of these things scare me more than the duck that is staring at me right now.
