Help with digital audio delay

I have music creator 2, recently while trying to record vocals over guitar i realized that the recording was delayed. It sounded like i was singing off beat, but after playing with it and having other people try it, i decided there was definately a delay. The delay is very slight but it makes it impossible for me to record my voice over guitar and impossible for me to play on beat with the metronome. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help is appreciated.

Adjust the buffering speed, and turn off input monitoring.

One other thought occured to me, what sound card do you have? If it is a sound blaster or audigy, then make sure that MC is setup to record at a sample rate of 48,000 htz, as that is what SB cards operate at.
