Hey Craig B. ;)

I was cleaning up the studio, packing up stuff while listening to Depeche Mode's Music for the Masses and Behind the Wheel came on.

Then I remembered -  the DM song itself never really caught my attention all that much, but then in 2004 IIRC, I heard this version by Kristy Thirsk, a canadian singer best known for her work w/ Delerium*

Brilliant songwriting to begin with, and this arrangement just makes it shine. I'm not 100% about the vocals (I am awfully picky w/ singers) but I think the version is good and interesting nonetheless.

Worth checking out for a DM fan, anyway...

* Along w/ one of my favorite musicians in the genre, Bill Leeb (Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Pro-Tech, Noise Unit, and so on).

I'll give it a listen as soon as I get off the phone.

How about Intermix, Equinox & Synaesthesia?  I seem to hear them in the same sentence as Noise Unit and Protech.

The man has/had too many projects, I never had the time to get into all of that stuff - lol

To be honest, until maybe 10-12 years ago when I finally moved to the city, even just finding Front Line Assembly was a challenge where I lived. No store carried that stuff back home, it was pretty much like underground imports.

Interesting bit I've just read off wiki; Early versions of Microsoft's Windows XP beta versions used the first minute of the song Voices from the first Intermix album as background music for the Welcome Assistant. It was however not credited and it seems it was not with permission. It was replaced in the final version of Windows XP.

Looks like I'm going to be a busy (but happy) camper trying to catch up on all the bands again!

I bet Julibee could do Behind the Wheel justice.  I've heard her doing some Pagini so nothing Kristy did would be too difficult for her!

As if I need to "discover" any more music right now...  I just went from your Kristy link, to the Delerium Aria link, to some research about Delerium which led me to Mediaeval Baebes (who were the singers and in the video) and THAT finally led me to Miranda Sex Garden where I've been listening to several of their songs for the last half hour!

    Hehe...
