Hey Karl - is it true?
The Olympic Flame will not pass through Norwich... They don't want to risk the Torch Bearer being tried for Witchcraft.

The only way to get to see Norwich is to go there. You'll never pass it on the way to somewhere else wherever you are going or wherever you come from. Similar to Reykjavik in that respect I suppose. Still there is one good thing about Norwich, Dan lives there...

Are you Brits getting excited about this stuff? Canada is so big that when we hosted the Olympics in 2010 it may as well have been in another country so it didn't fill me with national pride. The games were actually not confined to 1 town. How is it going to be done over there?

How is it going to be done over there? Personally I'm not any more hyped up than for any other Olympics and I think some of the run-in is amusingly and unmistakibly 'British'. Like the plane carrying the flame looking like it was a standard British Airways livery that had been over-painted with some cheap semi-opaque translucent orange that left the original 'finish' grinning through from underneath. I also noticed that after some initiative that gave the plane the 'moniker' Firefly, the stencilled name tag underneath the Captain's window had mostly blown off on the flight back from Athens.... I think some of the amusement of the event will occur in a typically 'British' mend and make do in the face of austerity kind of way. On the other question, the primary focus is most definitely on London but there are events being staged elsewhere.

trimph1 So Boris is still mayor? Just been reelected last week I think or even the week before that. This is part of problem with getting the news from the weather report.

Only just popped in and see this. The centre of the universe ridiculed? How many other places can you name that have produced an untalented troll that can use some screen recording software? Not many I'll warrant. As a great man once said "Norwich is a great place to come from - not somewhere you'd want to go to but great coming from it" I'll have you know us carrot crunchers are cutting edge. BTW....What's the Olympics? Now get 'orf my land bor, I've gotta go I'm keeping a look out for some witch that's going to be carrying a torch round these parts soon. We're burning her at the stake.
