Some people are just so afraid of their fragile self image being shattered over a whacked out looking picture or a couple of well placed witty words posted online directed at them .
FWIW, I enjoy old school comedy where the comedian makes fun of himself
I like to make fun of myself all the time .  I notice there's a few fellas around here on the forum that have thick enough skin to make fun of themselves and post some jabs at others all in good fun ...
I messed with Steve so much putting his head on pictures , I'm surprised he didn't mail me a jar of that stuff

Steve has thick skin , so does bapu ...and a few others ...
It's pretty easy to tell who the crybabies are ....
The crybabies are the ones that can dish it out but they can't take it ...

There's only one OUT gay guy here

I would actually like to see this change and was meaning to mention it in one of my diatribes.

To our gay members who may be lurking but think we're a bunch of derpy dinosaurs (which we are) just know that I, and I'm sure many other members, would shout down any arsehole who would give you a hard time about it.

Of course this is a music recording software site so sexual preference (or race or creed or whatever) really isn't something we should be focusing on but ya... Beeps at least has got your back.

Show it loud and proud and all that if you are so inclined.

Semi related... after my little spazzout the movie "Milk" happened to pop up in my new movie aggregrate thingie (I had no idea what it was about but it was highly rated so I clicked through). Rather timely and I recommend everyone watch it. It's a good flick based on an intense real life story.

Cheers, peace and granola hugs.

Whether or not it was intentional, and whether or not I agree with Eph, I'd read this thread as bridging on homophobic.

Of course it was intentional Matt.

In much the same way we all tease each other about all sorts of things.

Bapu = Moobs
Straummy = Pedantic
Daryk = Likes monkeys
Beepster = Talks like a doooooooooood man
Pedro = Talks and talks and talks and talks and talks
John T = Likes chatting to birds and sinking a few jars
John = Fanboy
etc etc.

The reason nobody gets upset or god forbid 'offended' is because we are a self-effacing lot only too keen to laugh at ourselves.

Trust me please, the very last thing anyone who knows me would call me is a bigot or indeed a homophobe. I am, and always have been, completely disinterested in any trait or characteristic that a person cannot change or was born with. I might vehemently argue anyone's politics or religious beliefs, but their sexuality or skin colour is of no concern or business of mine.

Matt, as I mentioned directly to eph in another thread - no one knew he was gay until he started dropping continual references to it in his posts.

To me and a few others, it appeared he was trying to get a 'reaction' by doing so.

It seems to have taken him by surprise that nobody really gives a sh1t.

To me, his sexuality isn't an issue, but surely that shouldn't stop me poking a little harmless fun in a (seemingly misguided) attempt to give him the reaction he so desires?

Far from his choice in partners, the only beef I have with the guy is that like all of us, he can be a little bit of a tool every once in a while.

Yanno, it's weird but after our communiques over the past couple days I thought that might be the case and thanks for sharing. I really would like to see us become a more diverse community especially with all the new younger members arriving from Steam and elsewhere.

Of course it's not relevant at all but it might bring in more interesting folks to derp it up with around here.

The messed up thing is I think most humans are at least partially bi.

Sadly, even though I've been placed in many situations (especially as a young street kid who hung out at the Church street boozecans before hooking up with the punks) whereby I could test my own inclinations I am an utterly and tragically hetereosexual munkey.

Weenis' and man mouth just don't do it for me.

Strummy, I don't want to be the main focus of this thread.
I saw him mention it once, but it didn't seem to be trying to get a reaction.  But I don't read all his posts...  I was actually impressed that nobody gave a sh1t, but to me it became more relevant as members starting pushing back at him with inferences.  Or at least that's how I read them.

I'm all for arguing with tools, and if someone's being a tool call them on it! I think we just need to take a little more care - making d1ck jokes to someone you're in a conflict with is very different than a d1ck joke to someone you're friends with (especially if he likes d1ck).

We can always learn to be a little more sensitive to others.

I just don't think eph, based on his history around here, is the guy to teach us.

He's unnecessarily inflammatory and shown far more prejudice than those he attacks.

This is absolutely why I think we need more actual diversity around here. Not weird alt/troll cliches picking fights where there is no fight to begin with.

So weird ... how you mistake me for someone else ... I'm one of the quietest person you could ever meet. I might have a thing or two to say, but many times I just don't say it ... because I know people like you wouldn't know the difference between words and talk ...

Sometimes, a few things are so heavy, they are weightless!

Not in the Coffee House!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!
