No I wasn't reading this forum. It just happens to be logged in.

In answer, no I'm not that person. Although I've had the name for years there are a few who use it now. Perhaps they want to be as cool as me. I don't blame them.

ah and I was about to ring up Cilla to do a special edition of surprise surprise striking

perhaps getting Jon or Steve to host it would have been the cheaper option

(surprise surprise was a show in the UK where they reunited people after years)

you may have heard of her >

I'll confess, though, that DS is one of my very favorite female vocalists of all time!

Susan.. it was going so well till ya said ya like brussel sprouts.hehe

you don't like burly chassis (Shirley Bassey) ?
    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qZsI7eXcOGM&feature=related

DS was good and Petula Clark , I only know of them as my dad likes them (and crate digging records for samples ).. Apparently she had an operation on her throat and she can't really sing like older days

who else can I think of hhmm Lulu, Sandy Shaw to name another to. what REALLY annoyed me was I heard a judie tzuke song ,heavily sampled and people think the the more recent MYLO one is the original
    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CAQ-UrcsBi0

the sad thing is many singers now who don't have a decent un effected (e.g. without autotune , melodyne ) these days..

I did see that, and I probably have everything she ever recorded!
A phenomenal pop vocalist, IMO, and others (Bacharach and Sir John Elton, among others)! agree.

    Dusty is, well... Dusty!

Well said! She proved you don't have to hit every note in your entire range multiple times in order to deliver a song.

    Hi Fog-

I never said anything about Shirley Bassey -- I really only know her from I think it was the "Goldfinger" theme. I have no opinion of her singing. I was a *huge* Petula Clark fan during my teenage years. "Downtown" wasn't one of my favorites, even though it was her first big hit in the US, but she did some really good stuff on her albums, esp. with some of the standards like "A Foggy Day". She had a very strong, clear voice, with excellent intonation, IMO. She had a few other hits in the US, written by her husband, Tony Hatch, but to me they always sounded pretty much the same ("Don't Sleep In the Subway", etc.).

But again, IMO, Dusty is *the* Pop female vocalist. It's crazy how good she was.

+1 to that and I'm also a fan of another of that era, the prototype Chrissie Hynde if you like...Sandie Shaw, the strength of the songs from that era also was phenomenal. Maybe 'cause so many truly professional writers were drafted in during that time to cope with the demand for new material.

I think you are on the wrong forum. This is not a matchmaking site. Try www.eharmony.com, or one of those other ones. (If you are male, and looking for someone with that nickname, perhaps you are looking for a gay matchmaking site? I don't know the URLs, but I'm sure they exist.)

(You could consider though, regardless of whether you are male or female, that anyone who calls themself by a nickname like that, is probably so conceited, that you don't want to meet them!)
