Hide Muted Take Lanes in PRV option

Hi-

I'd like an option to Hide Muted Take Lanes in the PRV. There's currently an option to Hide Muted Clips, but if a Take Lane is muted and the clips in it aren't, you have to explicitly mute them for them to be hidden.

Thanks-

So they implemented a Hide Take Lanes option in Platinum for takes with only muted clips? If so great but personally I'd like to be able to hide any lane I want for whatever reason I choose.

Edit: I see this is for in PRV. Not sure what this even means in PRV but whatever it is I would likely want the option to hide it. I hate visual clutter but create massive amounts of "clutter" as I write and track. I may still wnat to use that material so I'm not going to delete it but I don't want to see it. Currently I flatten and create entirely new tracks for the "uncluttered" versions. I will always vote for options to hide things I am not currently working on/looking at.

Perfectly logical!   Treat all clips in a muted lane as muted clips because, well, they are muted.

    Hi Beepster-

This FR is for an option to hide all clips in a muted Take Lane in the PRV, whether or not the individual clips in the lane are explicitly muted. As it is, we can Hide Muted Clips in the PRV, but if a Take Lane is muted, we still have to make sure the individual clips in the lane are muted before they're hidden in the PRV.

I submitted this as a Feature Request some time ago. But rather than making it an option I proposed that the existing option to Hide Muted Clips should just automatically include lane muting.

I'm for it in any case.

I agree about just adding it to Hide Muted Clips.  I thought maybe there was some reason they were kept separate that escaped me.  Can I still vote for yours?

    Thanks-

    Hi Dave-

I can't find your FR to add my vote. Whether it's a separate option or not, I'd really like to see this implemented. It doesn't make sense to me that we have to mute a lane *and* mute all the clips in it to avoid seeing them.

    Thanks-

Also, I just noticed that the Smart Tool doesn't work correctly on notes in the muted lanes in the PRV if the lanes are expanded. It just changes to and stays on the Draw Tool (pencil icon) so I can't drag edges or velocities, etc. It works if I collapse the lanes. I don't know if this is expected behavior or not.

It could very well be an hierarchy of hiding - hide muted clips, hide muted take lanes - hide muted tracks and maybe even hide muted track folders.

Both from menu and track manager.

And maybe options for screensets. A settings dialog and have such options there too.

"some time ago" was before the FR forum existed so there's nothing to be found here. As for the hierarchy of "mutedness" I think I'd prefer to just keep it simple: If I can't hear it don't show it when the "Hide Muted Events" box is checked.

    Hi Dave-

Okay, understood. Yes, I absolutely agree that if it's muted it shouldn't be shown when "Hide Muted" is checked.
