Higher-A mini pop Sonata :)

Ok, time for some new music, this time a mini pop sonata...yes it does exist, now! :).

Perhaps this would be the best way to describe it:
A mash-up of styles, think Jimi Hendrix vs Paul McCartney with a dash of Kunteye Pest if he had any talent!

Cheers Ben

I like the major 7th interval, with the falsetto, that's kind of original.  Fun.  Great rhythm.

That's why it's a 'pop sonata' ;)...by using the 7th note of the scale in roman numeral analysis, I can modulate from the main key of fm, drift into f harmonic minor, end up in C major, and then by using a double 7th bridge to tell the listener their now leaving C major and returning to the home key of f minor, so Dm to C, Bdim to C and then E dim to f minor lol...oh yea Mozart would be proud.

Yes it's great to have my rhythm guitar back, I have not had a mic to record the acoustic for three years...I got a H6 zoom with all these stereo mics, and I used this to record the initial acoustic track, and built the composition around the acoustic rhythm part...again Mozart would be proud...or maybe I need to get a life and a wife lol!

Sorry, went off on a tangent...yes the Fmaj 7 part is cool, particularly when the first time the motif is played it's fmin7 ;) to c major lol. I wouldn't quite call it falsetto either, that's my upper range, I can get a little higher with a proper falsetto ;).

I think I hear you imitating a rainbird sprinkler? Hilarious! Did I compare you to Fred Firth yet? How about Spinal Tap? Jeez I don't know what to make of this. So very original and I know the world needs more of this. Nice job!

    Thanks Tom...I try.

Music today is sooo boring IMO, so I just make what I want to hear.  Mind you, most of this track was ad-libed, including the lyrics...'Your girlfriend says you've to get it up'...'your mother says you've got it up' ;) just popped in my head on Friday night, and seemed to fit the triplet pattern of the acoustic.  So an act of the universe...maybe??

After 30 years of musical learning...you'd hope I could create great music by now, and after 20 years of audio production and 3 degrees...you'd hope I could mix and master.

If you listen to this track on headphones, you will find the verbs and delays wrap around your head because I've used a 360 degree panner.

    Cheers Ben
