Highway 49 - A Howlin' Wolf blues classic played on slide guitar

Highway 49 - A Howlin' Wolf blues classic played on slide guitar

I recorded this using my Sonar X1 Essential DAW. All guitars and vocals were miked using a SE Elecronics SEX1 condenser microphone. The piano was generated with the step sequencer on the Cakewalk Sound Centre using 'Rock Piano'. The recording was dubbed on to a video using Serif MoviePlus video editing suite.

Please check out YouTube link and I hope you enjoy it.

Champaigne Charles.  Love it.  Unfortunately I don't see any link to click on.  Wassup?

OK, I found your "vid" but it was down on by Mike's avatar.  Sorry.  Yeah it's a fun watch.  I don't know if the choppy bass sound was what you were going for but, imho, it needs to flow a bit better.  Back in the 60s our manager owned a teen nightclub.  Howlin' Wolf was there and we got to meet him.  I can't remember a thing about it except I was honored to be there.  Charles, this was totally fun to watch and listen to.  I think I need to get some of those bricks.  I have an Ovation acoustic and it slides off my lap all the time and I'm 6'2" tall.  Thanks for sharing!!

Fun stuff Charlie!  Solid mix, great playing and singing too.  Nice video, although your lip sync could use a bit of work (but I'm sure you already knew that).  Thanks for sharing this, it made me smile. :)

That is fun. I love the blues.
The rhythm tracks are a bit stiff, but the mix is great and the guitar and vocals are well played.

Very well done! I enjoyed listening to this. The only thing missing was a Mississippi string tie!
