Holy bleeping blapples! Look at all those arpeggiator presets!!!

Oh man... as an old rock dinosaur it's kind of against my belief system to use automatic stuff like that but boy oh boy am I excited to try all this stuff out.

Nice!

...and I guess Pete Townsend and Edgar Winters used arpeggiators... therefore it's still cool. ;-p

More arp patterns are available http://www.cakewalk.com/s...lesion_ARP_Presets.zip

Install in a directory in "Cakewalk Content\SONAR X2 Producer\Arpeggiator Patterns"

Thanks. I also just figured out how to map all this stuff rather painlessly to my controller. Right Click parameter (even the Rate and Octave dropdowns) > Remote Control > > click Learn > Fiddle with a knob on the controller... kabingi!

    Sweet.

hmm... can't seem to get the Latch button to map to my controller properly. The light turns on/off when I press the mapped key but it doesn't stop the arpeggio. It also turns on/off when I press ANY key. This smells buggy.

One of the first questions one might ask is, have you applied all the patches?

Ah, crap. It seems every parameter maps visually (the GUI knobs turn) but the actual values don't change so there is no audible difference. Ugh. So much for that being easy.

    From the manual:

Note: Most Arpeggiator parameters can be controlled via MIDI remote control, but automation data can not be recorded into tracks.

    Wat?

You can create envelops to automate the arpeggiator. Only having a very simple MIDI keyboard, I have no experience with what you are trying to do.

Yeah, it's very strange I can make the graphical knobs move but it's not changing anything. Seems to work on other stuff though. Oh well. Something's broken.

Just found another couple broken features. Supposedly when holding Shift while pressing the Record Arm button for a track is supposed to auto enable the Input Echo button. It does not.

Then there is a feature in the Preferences > Audio - Playback and Recording dialog that disables all Input Echo when starting playback. That doesn't work either.

lol... guess I'm going to find a lot of weird stuff as I go along.

LOL I had fun using this feature. I started using the arpeggiator in X1. Glad to see your making progress through the manual beepster. You will learn more about this feature when you get that groove pass and go through some of the Sonar videos.

I've been through pretty much all the arp presets and I have to say I wasn't that impressed with 95% of them. Some of the jazz ones made me laugh though.

Not sure what you're doing wrong / is happening there but that works. I'm on X2a but it also worked  pre X2a as well. Both on audio and MIDI.

Can't say I've used the other feature you mentioned much.
