Hopefully this is just a quick midi/piano roll question

Lets say I'm recording midi with session drummer and an external drum pad.
First I record the kick and hit stop, then snare, then hats.
I now have 3 takes that lay on top of each other.
Is there anyway to "merge" these takes together into one take? The dont seem to all show up on the piano roll at the same time if they are left as 3 clips
 
I've been able to select them and group them, but the grouping is not permanent.

Ok, just to make sure "bounce to clips" does not convert the midi data into an audio clip with a wave form view?

If you only select MIDI clips you will consolidate those into one MIDI clip.
If you select both MIDI and the softsynth tracks/clips you will get a wav clip.

That's not accurate. Bounce to Clips will never render MIDI to Audio. Bounce to Tracks generates a wave file if both tracks are selected, but does nothing if only the MIDI is selected.
 
Also, the OP should be aware that Bounce to Clips will apply any muting, groove-clipping, slip-editing , clip FX, etc. that have been used, so it does more than just merge clips. I recently re-learned this when I bounced some muted clips together, and all the notes disappeared. 
 

I've noticed that if I do a paste in the piano roll that "undo" (sometimes) is not even an option available to select (other times it is). If this is case and I do indeed hit undo then usually a previously recorded track goes bye bye. Thank you Brundlefly for the above clarification.
