Horizontal Scrolling Speed

I'm not sure if this is a Windows or Cakewalk question.

For years several DAW friends and I have wondered if there is any way to control the speed of horizontal scrolling. I'm not talking about the intentional scrolling that happens in the track view for example...

A typical senario would be where I grab the end of a midi note in the Piano View and drag it to the right and I want to place it somewhere just out of view to the right of my screen... as soon as I touch the right side of the border, it scrolls several measures past where I was trying to go.

Any ideas?

    No idea how to fix it, but I've sure experienced this problem too. VERY annoying.

    Also... (I don't know if it's related to this prblem) in Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 I could left click on the horizontal scroll bar while a song was playing in the piano view and move the screen along to find events (wheel, controller, etc.) and the page would stop where I wished. Since Sonar you can't do that. The screen will not "hold" where you want it to.

    I think horizontal scrolling is a problem in SOnar. It never seems to do what you would want.

    Scroll lock freezes the scroll pane in a static position and you can see the cursor scroll by as the song plays.

    Formerly as the song was playing (and the scroll lock was not pressed) I could left click on the horizontal scrolling square to move the screen anywhere in the song I wished and the window would show that portion of the song while the song played. I could keep the left mouse button pressed to "hold" that screen position to view the controller events while the song still played, even if I went to the right horizontal end of the piano roll view.

    Sonar will stay where you're doing the work instead of jumping ahead along with the audio. I always have scroll lock on, but when editing notes, sometimes it still jumps way ahead for some reason. VERY annoying.

    The best is always yet to come. Now...shut up and make some noise!
