How Do I Delete a Thread?

(Moderators, please don't delete this)

If I commence a thread and want to remove it after I commenced it. How is that do-able by the op?

Thanks in advance.

Nope. Once you start it, it's permanent unless a Moderator removes it.

Yep, so be careful what you wish for

So, what should be talk about?

    Oh, sorry, that's it.

Can moderators move a thread after someone has posted a reply to the OP?

    Philip,
You can only edit your own posts. You can essentially "mute" any posts you make after-the-fact, but if someone quotes you, it'll show in their post, and there's nothing you can do about it.

So, no, it's not a good idea to post anything you don't want the world to see.

"I'm marrying a goat" isn't the worst thread started

Hang on in there. It will eventually disappear.

I play spam the spammers... we should all make their PM boxes full.

it's a real shame they hide their domain registration behind a 3rd party + there are no REAL address details on their site.. I never trust any company that I can't get a REAL address of some sort for..

Philip, you can edit your posts as others have said but you can also edit the Thread Title in your first post.

Trouble is, if past experience is anything to go by, if you change it to 'Deleted' or similar, everyone will take a look - a bit like rubber-neckers passing a car crash!

Yeah, there are several ways to delete a thread, unfortunately most methods also get you banned.

Yeah well, those are things people are just inherently bad at.

We should concentrate on positive things, things we're good at, like the economy. Or Large Hadron Colliders.
