How Do I Use A MIDI Controller To Automate An Effect?

I am seriously lost here and having an unproductive day.  I could really use some help here.

I spent the last 30 minutes trying to find out how I can automate an effect in my delay plugin in the Pro Channel FX Chain.

At first I thought I can setup an Assignable knob in 1 of the 6 slots for that, but you can't control them with CC.

I tried ACT, but the effect doesn't work with ACT.  The ACT panel shows up these blank blue boxes which I can't assign to any knobs.   I really dont feel like drawing.

Please help!

Thank You

    Hey there ^^

Right-click on the knob you want to control and select "remote control",  then click "Learn" and move the knob/fader on your Midi-controller you want to assign with or - instead of clicking "Learn" - select the CC you wanna use.
