How Great Thou Art

My version of the gospel classic, which I've always thought is one of the most beautiful songs written. Let me know what you think....song

Though I am a Christian, I gave up hymns long ago. Blaaagh
    That said.
In regard to your arangement I would suggest starting earlier with additional orchestration. Also, I suggest changing the solo instrument or effect on the guitar to build with the rest of the background instruments as the arrangement progresses. Also, the string pad in the background towards the beginning sounds...cheesey. Add some polyphonic movement to it like real strings would do.

This is pretty relaxing, easy-listening music. Nice arrangement. The snare sounds a touch to loud for genre to my ears.

    Nice work.

What do you mean by polyphonic movement?

    Polyphonic movement
If you hold a 3 note chord and then move to another 3 note chord, its like 3 violins moving from note to note at the same time and in parallel motion. If the 3 violins change notes at different times and move in different directions and intervals then you have polyphony.

BTW, I'm implementing all of your suggestions because I agree with them, good ideas. It is a mothers day present, so I have plenty of time to play around with it...

    Thanks

To me the beauty of your arrangemnt is that most all know its lyrics or at least some of its words. Now perhaps it has been done in many instrumental versions but I've just never heard them. Keep doing this thing that you're doing. I want to hear more.

I concur, I like what you've done with this. Also I do not think the snare is too loud, or maybe you've changed it out from the original. That sounded really well-done to me.
