How I'll spend my winter "vacation"
1. Learn ICRAM-Flux (just enough to be silly) 2. Learn Wavelab 7* (just enough to be dangerous) 3. Learn BIAB (just enough to not sound Karaoke) Any other suggestions (besides going beyond 'just enough')? See Jan's note below. Just upgraded for $99.

How about learning our cherished forum software--just enough to fix it. I don't if it makes a difference to you, but I think Wavelab is on version 7 now. I had to upgrade from 6 in order to run on Windows 7. It's the basic "Elements" version. I don't really need anything more elaborate than that.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys? X2(X3 pending hardware upgrade), Emulator X2, E-mu 1212M, Virtual String Machine

bapu 1. Learn ICRAM-Flux (just enough to be silly) post in the Coffee House more 2. Learn Wavelab 6 (just enough to be dangerous) update nagbap and push it on unsuspecting CHB members' computers 3. Learn BIAB (just enough to not sound Karaoke) post in the Coffee House more. Any other suggestions (besides going beyond 'just enough')? fixed suggestions.

bapu 1. Learn ICRAM-Flux (just enough to be silly) Learning to spell IRCAM would be a good start, no?

When you say IRCAM-Flux do you mean the VST plug-ins, developed by Flux in conjunction with the French institute, known as IRCAM-tools? Is this just a ruse to hide the acquisition of yet more plug-ins under a highbrow academic guise?... There is only one Bapu and Bapu is him..

2. Learn Wavelab 7* (just enough to be dangerous) See Jan's note below. Just upgraded for $99. LOL, actually using Wavelab 6 to notice it didn't work on Windows 7 would have been a good start too...

That would have taken all winter. 1. get new mobo 2. change psu 3. install latest Windows Defender 4. spend weeks on Technet 5. reinstall all software 6. put back old mobo 7. order WaveLab 7 (wait 30 days since they were out of stock)

3. Learn BIAB (just enough to not sound Karaoke) Are you sure it's actually BIAB that's causing the Karaoke sound? Given those three points I reckon you'll have plenty to do during Winter Vacation. Will you still have time for movie nights? I sense McQ will enjoy the 'ICRAM-flux' story. He likes companies that show marketing flair...

Come to think of it I could just spend all my time nagging The CHB the following vendors who have not gone to 64-bit versions: IRCAM-Flux Rayzoon UAD Waves XLN Audio (it's still in public Beta since March)

Getting back home, getting married, going to Spain for the rest of the year, hopefully with a two week vacation in January to visit London and maybe Paris, if not back to NY for 2 weeks, then off to Russia for 3 months, finish writing the album and doing some pre-prod, learning all I can about mixing and then back to NY. That's my plan. Did I mention I've never been on a plane and I feel nauseous when I climb up on a chair? Hopefully,I'll have time left and learn to play Yngwie's Trilogy with my teeth... Or then just enjoy life. :P

Airplanes aren't really up in the air that high. It's just propoganda to make you "fly". Don't worry about it, you're really traveling along I-95 the whole way whether you know it or not.

FWIW I have Wavelab 6.1 and it does work with W7 (32 & 64 bits). That's interesting. I had a bunch of headaches with trying to get it to run on W7. I have to admit, I'm not as current with the OS stuff as I used to be. Bapu, sorry if I caused you to upgrade unnecessarily.
