How Many Here Use Sonar for Daily Practice?

I have vocal exercises to sing along with as warm-ups ( i need all the help i can get)
ii-V altered and unaltered  for scale arp phrasing etc. ( I re-record each day in different keys to explore positions and such)
Work on transcribing solos by loops

Sonar is a dream come true when it comes to practicing your instrument!!!!

Incredible idea - never heard of it before, but it makes perfect sense - and I'll keep this in my recommendation file.

Indeed then, there's strict tempo and timing.

Not that I practice anymore, but I could...

Another useful thing for me is to record a chord sequence, solo, etc. from something I want to learn and then use my amp to record on a track under it and tweak my sound to to get as close to the parts I want to sound like. Till they sound the same. It made a big difference when doing Skynard /Santana and such "Live" at the gigs. The list keeps building on useful things besides recording.

I'd practice if I thought it would do any good.

I do that too.  I have a project with a dozen vocal excercises (MIDI) running into a piano synth.

    I have 2 usual options.
    1.  This is the basic setup with MIDI and 1 piano synth.  this is good for singing the pre-recorded files i've made.
    2.  This is the same as Setup 1, but with an audio track enabled to run my mic through the program.  This is also set to give me a strong volume in relation to the piano.  I use this when i'm singing to whatever i'm playing on my digital piano (that's being fed to the synth).  I prefer the mic when i'm sitting down looking at my fingers, as my torso/throat/head are not aligned properly.

I've got a drum & bass track for the last piano piece I worked on (Road Trip, by Jon Schmidt.)  But I never could figure out how to practice with it when I needed it.  (couldn't hear it on the laptop)  AFTER the recital I realized I could load it into Sonar and play along.  Duh!!  Little too late, but it sure is fun now!  (and MAYBE it will help me not speed up the dumb thing so fast!)

Can someone explain why I should practice a day.

    Aren't they all the same?

What IS this "practice" concept I seem to hear so much about anyway?
