How To Draw In Alternating and Even Controllers?

Hello,

I was wondering how this would be possible.   I don't care which view this is done, Step Sequencer, PRV, Tracks, etc....  but i want to be able to pan 8th notes left and right back and forth.   L R L R L R L R.    However i do not wish to hard pan, maybe 40 L and 60 on the R.

I see you can use the Line Tool to draw lines which is great for fades but is there a way to do what I am trying to do?   Do I need to physcially draw it in by hand and then copy and paste it somehow through the track?  Not sure how to go about this.
THANK YOU!
Adam

You are on the right lines with the copy/paste assuming you want a constant pan. Assuming you are using the smart tool........

    1. Insert your pan envelope
    2. Select the area you want to pan left in the time ruler
    3. In the top third of the clip (where it changes to the move cursor) drag the cursor up until the pan reaches you're requirements
    4. Repeat number 2
    5. Repeat 3 but drag down instead.
    6. Lasso or time ruler select the nodes
    7. Press Ctrl-C, if the box pops up select automation only
    8. Move now time to where you want to start the paste
    9. Press Alt+Ctrl+V - brings up the paste options
    10. Set the paste options how you want them**
    11. Paste

**You may have to play around with the time options a bit to get your desired result but it will work. I've done it myself a few times.
