How To Use DXi Synth

I have added the DXi Synth (included with Music Creator) as a MIDI instrument in my project.  When I play the project I hear the notes, but they sound like simple electronic tones/beeps, not like musical instruments.  I tried changing the Patch setting and the sound is the same.  How do I get musical instrument sounds to play on my Windows PC?

Welcome to the forum.
What synth is it? (There are lots of DXi synths).

make sure you are changing the patch from the pull down menus on the track in MUSIC CREATOR, not on the face of the synth itself.  some MIDI tracks might reset or set values of patches before play begins.

I am making the change in the Patch setting for the track itself.  I haven't looked at the interface for the synth itself, yet.  I forgot that was available.

Ok, then open the MIDI EVENTS log and see if there are any Patch change events.

I can't find the log events in the Cakewalk folder, or the Cakewalk Projects folder, or the Users folders.  Any ideas where I should look?

View>Event List.
I think. MC 6 is a little different from earlier versions.

Actually, you're just using the wrong synth for what you want to do.
Dreamstation is an analog synth, and it does electronic tones and beeps. It does not respond to the bank/patch settings in the track.
Use TTS-1 instead. It is a GM2 synth, and the patch settings are relevant to it.

That sounds like the information I needed.  I'll look into the TTS-1.

Thanks
