How about Staff View in X1, as 8.x or worse?

Hi
#1. Is Staff View the same as Sonar 8.x, or diminished somehow?
Many other things are not up to what 8.x has, so wondering about this.

#2. Are anybody running other daws and import midi via rewire?
What I want is basically to use Staff View abilities in Sonar for midi tracks in other daw.

#3. Does rewire work for midi, or is it pure audio?

Thanks.
:)

I'm not a big user of staff view but what I have seen of it makes me tend to say that it's about the same as 8.5.

    Thank you kindly, both.

I will look through the tutorials whether I can do what I expect through rewire.

Or if anybody can confirm importing midi tracks is a breeze I can go ahead and do my upgrade to X1.

MIDI is a native file format for Sonar. You don't need to import them just open them. The only reason to import one is if you have a project already.
    And yes its a breeze.

I played around with x86 version Sonar 8.5 and Reaper and you can almost do what I wanted.

I could set a midi output from track in Reaper to Rewire Bus 1 but this I could not see in Sonar. I don't know how that works.

I could open all audio tracks from Reaper and they are native tracks in Sonar, cool - but I see no reason to use this.

The same thing with midi and what I hoped for would be possible. If there were rewire midi tracks as well as audio tracks.

I could mark and export midi tracks from Reaper that I imported into Sonar. That seems to work fine. But that is not dependent on rewire.

Anybody that came longer than me are welcome to share.
