@sharke... Ah... but on my DAW I have next to nothing installed aside from audio stuff specifically to avoid weirdness. I'm not worried about disk space. More worried about the extra bits and bytes for the touchscreen stuff dorking around. We have seen quite a few weird problems that do not seem to be user error this go around. You gotta figure Win 8 is new... the touchscreen stuff is new... the a patch is treading new ground in both those areas. This is essentially like a new release that has not yet been through user testing/reporting because of that.
X2 has been working reasonably well right from the start and the QuickFix didn't conjure up a ton of threads reporting odd behavior so I've installed that. I'm just not willing to sacrifice any time troubleshooting right now when I'm not experiencing any showstoppers.
I am however bookmarking threads that describe workarounds for all the various problems with the a patch so I can get a better idea of what to do if I install it and things do go sideways. They are all very technical though and beyond my personal comfort level so I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing and hope the a patch gets patched before I need it.
Overabundance of caution, yanno?
Cheers.
