How are Project5 patches and patterns used w/in Kinetic?

Hello All,

I saw some time ago that Kinetic users can download and use patterns and patches from Project5.

I downloaded some of both and the patches would not work.

Is there a specific step by step process other than moving the files to your Kinetic folders under Program files?

What steps do you use for both?

    I do not think that is possible. If so it must be a very long process. I tried that before but never got a solid answer.

    I've gotten patterns to work.

    but only the ones with the extension of .ptn

    As for patches, I never actually attempted them.

    In order to use patches, you need to actually own the synths that they use.

    For example, on project5.com, there are a number of patch files. Some of these are for PSYN, which you should be able to use. Others are for Cyclone, Velocity, nPulse, or DS 864 which are plugins which come with P5 but not Kinetic. These you wouldn't be able to use in Kinetic unless you already owned P5.

    Fac has a page with a bunch of patches for 3rd party synths. Most of these are VST which you wouldn't be able to run without having an adapter (which comes with P5, Sonar3+, MC3). There are two free DXi plugins which you could use though (Triangle II and Synth 1).
