How can I re-activate my old Sonar Home Studio 4?
I am trying to get an old version of Sonar Home Studio 4 on my XP computer back running. Is there a way to get the registration code again? I do not (have not ever had) and installation CD. I have Sonar 8 on my Windows Vista computer, and Pro Audio on my other system, but I need Sonar 4 for something now. When I open the program, presently, it’s asking for the serial number and registration code. Is there a way to get it? Thanks. Michael

If you registered S 4 and remember the email address you used to register it way back then, it should be available in your account under My Registrations.

Hi, thanks, but I see my Sonar 4 folder (and contents) was created January 26th, 2006; the furthest back my online email archive (hence, possibly my registration and/or serial# keys) goes is 2008. I have had the same email address for many years; so that’s not a problem. But how/where do I get into “My Registrations” (under cakewalk.com/registrations?) I don't know whether or not I registered; I would have had to, wouldn't I, if I upgraded online? which I think I did.

you would have had to have registered if you used it for longer than 30 days. at the top of this page, hover your mouse over CAKEWALK STORE, then when the menu opens, click on MY ACCOUNT sign in using your email and password. then click on MY REGISTRATIONS. if you can't do that or if your registration isn't there, you'll have no choice but to contact customer service and see if they have your registration on file.

GOT IT! That worked! I hadn't known about that "My Accounts" window. My password(s) are all active. Though, it lists several purchases as having happened in 1900 ...hahaha ... (probably some old Y2K hiccup ...?). Thanks greatly! Michael

uh-oh ... what's this mean? It tells me the registration code is invalid ... checked ... rechecked ... rechecked .. Furthermore, it does not allow to to enter the serial number box to put in that number ... (if that means anything ...) guess, I better contact cakewalk...

If you're using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you have to right click the setup file and select Run As Administrator even if you're logged on as the administrator.

Make sure you are entering the registration code in the correct box. And watch out for zero and the letter O. In SHS4, click Help>About Sonar. Does the serial number shown match the one in your account?
