How do I Keep Input Echo when switching windows?

Hi Guys, We're throwing a christmas party and I'm turning my studio to a Karaoke bar :) I'm having trouble figuring out how to keep the Input Echo on when I'm using the mic, it won't stay on when I switch to other windows and then I can't hear the mic when the song is playing... any ideas?

What other windows? Other programs? Maybe "Share drivers with other programs" would help?
Just guessing. I've never noticed that problem, but I've stayed inside SONAR, and I'm still on 8.5.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

I recently discovered that if I minimize SONAR by clicking its icon in the Taskbar, it retains control of the driver/port when I change focus to another app. Try that.

That doesn't help me, I need it to stay open while I'm flipping between windows

Dunno. I've had inconsistent behavior with this over several versions. Right at the moment, SONAR seems to continue echoing no matter what I switch to, and I am not set to Share Drivers.

EDIT: I suspect this is mostly about how Windows and your interface are configured. It might help to ensure that your audio interface is not the Default Device for either Playback or Recording in Windows Sounds setup.
