How do I disable a track.

Suppose I have a track that I want to keep in the project, but don't want to use.

Is there a way to make it inactive so that it doesn't use CPU or memory?

I know that Pro Tools has a "Make Track Inactive" thing, and that's what I'm sort of looking for.

Thanks.

EDIT: Figured it out. ARCHIVE.

Archive or Mute. If a track is muted Sonar and your CPU ignore it. Audio is not loaded into memory.

Archive and Hide - it's a great combination.

Actually if it is muted the track IS loaded into memory and uses CPU.  Only ARCHIVE takes it out of memory/CPU

Yes...archive and hide.  It will always be there if you need it...and you ALWAYS need it someday.

That's right.  If a track is only muted, then Sonar still has to process the track in case you un-mute it on the fly.

If you archive the track it is not processed, and you cannot un-archive it during playback.

+1 to archive and hide.  And remember keyboard shortcut "h" for the track manager, that lets you see all tracks, hidden or not.
