How do I export a .wav file of a single track with the track's FX?
Hi all... so I have a vocal track. I've got FX in the track's FX bin, and I'm sending the track to a reverb bus. When I export the track as a wav file, the track is dry. I've also tried to bounce the track, thinking that would create a copy with the FX; that didn't work either; plus, the bounced track was a fraction of the volume of the original track.
I tried to export the entire mix as wav file, and solo'd the vocal track. That seemed to work, but the wav file has audible pops in it, which is another issue I'll need to figure out. Latency? Rendering bit depth? In case you haven't guessed, I'm new to all of this. Meantime, I need to send two copies of the mono vocal track (one dry, one wet) to a buddy who's going to drop it into his DAW. How do I export a wet copy of a single track? And, on the dry track, I want no effects, EXCEPT the pitch correction magic that Melodyne is working on the vocal; what a cool plugin. :) Is it possible to pick and choose which effects get rendered out as a .wav file from a track?

When you bounce or export you get a pop-up where you choose, among other things, whether the FX is included or not. Have all your tracks routed through Master Bus (or track>bus>Master). Exporting a single track with FX then only requires soloing that track and selecting Master as the source.
Bounce or export per se has no effect on the volume. If the volume changes in an unwanted way there's something wrong with your settings and routing. Note, that it's only the meters that tell the volume, what you hear doesn't matter. You may have FX output turned low, but monitoring loud or one of the many distracting alternatives.
The pops indicate something with audio interface/its drivers/buffer size. Is that Yamaha mixer also your audio interface? Does it have ASIO drivers (most recommendable)? Try increasing the buffer when exporting.

You're on the right track so I'm not exactly sure why you're not getting the desired result. Exporting just the one track should include Track and Clip FX so long as the corresponding boxes are checked in the export dialog. To get only the Melodyne processing, you can export the track and uncheck the FX box. Since Melodyne is a Clip FX, it will still be included. To include all FX, gain stages and bus reverb, solo the track, change source to Buses and export just the Master bus. Soloing the track and exporting Entire Mix should also work.
Export with Fast Bounce enabled is an offline process, so it doesn't involve you interface, and generally isn't prone to buffering issues or anything else that would cause clicks/pops in real-time playback. But SONAR does use the ASIO buffer as the default 'chunk' size for offline processing, and some plugins don't play nice during fast bounce with very small buffer size (e.g. 96 samples or less) But if you're using Melodyne, your buffer should be 1024 samples or more, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Hi. Yes, everything is routed through the Master bus. I've solo'd the track I'm trying to export, and the boxes are checked for Track FX and Bus FX (since I have a dedicated reverb bus) in the Export Audio pop-up. In the Export Audio pop-up window, I don't see where to select Master as the source. Drop-down options in Source Category are: Tracks, Buses, Main Outputs, Entire Mix and Clips. Maybe Buses grabs everything and Master is a bus so that's included in that category?

My audio interface is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 with ASIO driver. I'm not using the Yamaha at all with my DAW.

I'm still on 8.5. I find it very strange if Master as an export source isn't there anymore.
Your sig doesn't tell the capasity of your laptop, but any modern lappy should be good enough resourcewise, so I assume the pops should get eliminated by adjusting the buffers.
Disabling WiFi might also reduce unwanted noises.
