How do I get Sonar to remember new track settings?

I've been away from Sonar for too long and I've forgotten a lot -- including, I think, how to do this. Currently I'm running Sonar Platinum.

I imported a MIDI file into Sonar, so there were already tracks set. But since I'm using TTS-1, there are a number of instruments it has that don't show up in the General Midi selection. I find that, if I select one of TTS-1's instruments from within TTS-1's mixer window, when I restart the song, it returns to the original instrument with its original settings.

I've looked through the menus and read some stuff at the Help routine online. With the Online documentation, at "Choosing the instrument sound (bank and patch)" area, I read "The Bank and Patch controls in the Console view and Track Inspector control the initial bank and patch of a track during playback. Every time SONAR starts playback at the beginning of a project, the bank and patch settings for the track are set to these initial values."

Using the Track Inspector, I was able to change instruments, and get the change to stick. And I was finally able to find the right TTS-1 instrument by continuing to load banks until I got to one that contained the instrument I wanted. But the settings don't stick. For example, let's say I want to dial in some reverb and a bit of chorus. So I rotate the knobs in the TTS-1 mixer window to where I want them. But when I restart the song, the settings return to zero. How do I prevent this? I'm assuming that using the TTS-1 mixer for the settings is the problem, but when I use the Track Inspector, all I can find are the standard Cakewalk MIDI effects, which don't include reverb or chorus. What am I missing?

Never mind. I found them. Two small knobs at the top of the Track Inspector, Rev, and Chr. I haven't tried the Chorus yet, but the Reverb isn't nearly as good as TTS-1's. What's up with that?
