How do I get two takes to play at once?

How do I disable comping during playback in Sonar X3 so several takes in a single track will play at once?

I have a song with many ad-libs and harmonies. I sung them in several takes and now only one take will play per track.

It seems my only option is to create a new track for each clip, doing this would not be not saving me time at all.

Thanks in advance for any help here. :)

From : Developer Notes: SONAR X3 Comping

"But for those that want to have multiple clips sounding at the same time on tracks, just use a different take lane.  The resulting mix of data will be reflected in the comp clip on the main track."

It helps to recognize what Sonar is actually doing when you solo a take using the comp tool. It essentially just mutes the other clips, the same as you can do by right clicking on any clip and then selecting "clip mute/unmute".  Alternatively you can use the shortcut key - k.  To get more than one take to play, click on the *upper* portion of any muted (i.e., grayed out) clip and then kit "k".  This clip will now be unmuted.  You can do this for as many clips as you want.

Also, if earlier clips have been split by recording a more recent clip in comp mode that starts/ends in the middle of earlier clip(s), you can sweep through the lower half of a split clip with the comp tool to heal the corresponding splits in all takes (zoom out, and sweep the whole clip to prevent  creating new splits). And, of course, to record harmonies or other layered sounds without muting, change the record mode to Sound on Sound by right-clicking the Record button to open its properties.

Thank you peeps! That answered my question and it works just fine now!!!

Normally I would use the comping feature extensively but there are times when you just want to have several takes just play in a track(s).

Cakewalk rules!!! :)
