How do I restore menu options

Using Music Creator Pro 24 2004 I was attempting to use the Process Audio effects, Cakewalk, Reverb and received the message "Unable to..... It is likely that this effect is incompatible with Music Creator.  Would you like to remove.... from all menus in the future."  I hit the 'Yes" button before engaging my brain.  I know what I was attempting to do is compatible because I had done it before several times.  I had done something wrong just before attempting to use the reverb that caused the problem.  Since I hit the yes button without engaging the brain now that option is no longer available on the menu.  I want to restore it and a Pantheon option that used to show up that I also accidentally blew away.  Is there a way to do that.  I have uninstalled Music Creator and reinstalled it but these options are still missing.  How can I restore it?

ok - I've never used MC Pro, but assuming its menus were similar to what I do know about, go to TOOLS>CAKEWALK PLUGIN MANAGER

click on the SHOW EXCLUDED button at the bottom and then find the REVERB, then click on it to highlight it and then click on the ENABLE PLUGIN button.

now - my next suggestion is that you don't do it that way because it's destructive processing.  you can't undo what it does to the wave file once you've saved it.  If you use the reverb or other plugins in the FX bin instead then you are not permanently changing the recording you made and you can always go back and adjust parameters or even delete it if you want and you're still left with the original recording.

It's been awhile, so I looked. There is no plug-in manager in Pro 24.
No VST, VSTi support, either, only Dx and DXi support.
Pro 24 came out before Cakewalk began VST support (with the purchase of a VST wrapper from Cakewalk).
If the effects you lost came with the program, reloading the program should re-install the effects. In my Pro 24, I have reverb, but nothing called 'Pantheon'.

Thanks for the input you guys.  I did the uninstall, reinstall thing and for whatever reason it remembered what I had removed and did not restore the plug ins.  I did a fresh install on an older system that it had never been on and the plug-ins were there so somehow when I uninstalled it from the original system it must have left something there so it could remember that those had been removed.

I had also looked for the plug in manager and, your right Greg, there isn't one.

If you can think of anything else it would be great to hear your thoughts.

In the mean time since PRO24 is at least six years old maybe I need to consider purchasing something a little more recent.  It would be neat if you could offer any suggestions as to what I might look at, Cakewalk products or otherwise.

All of what I do is for personal use.  I have a great keyboardist that records midi's for me that I use as accompaniments to play my harmonica with.  Some times I get together with a few friends to jam as well so I'd like to be able to do multiple tracks of both the midi's and the audio tracks of course and the ability of Pro 24 to display the music (sheet music) of the midi tracks is a must.

Of course I have to be able to afford it too.  With the economy like it is money for me is not quite as available as it used to be.  Any suggestions?

Thanks again you guys.  Any suggestions would be wonderful.

    George

Is it possible that you purchased the VST adapter way back then, but it's not on the new computer?
Anyway, MC 5 is a steal at under $40. But it won't record more than 2 inputs at a time. MC Pro 24 can record 4 inputs.
All Cakewalk DAWs (that support MIDI) will display notation for MIDI tracks.

My first question...were you trying to apply audio FX to a midi track or was it audio?

Second it is unlikely that the FX was physically removed just removed from the "available FX" list due to some perceived incompatibility by the program.

You should be able to re-connect it but without a plug in manager... I don't have a clue how you would do that.

I would recommend what Greg suggested. Buy the newer MC5 from a store locally in the BOXED VERSION ( no downloads please) and get all sorts of new toys and synths and FX and ....well, just a better DAW platform.  For $40 it is a super deal. I use MC for ALL my recording.

I would think that if MC Pro doesn't have the plugin manager then the only way to get that plugin "unexcluded" would be to edit your windows registry.  I would assume that's where it told MC Pro to ignore the DX plugin.

I don't know how to edit the registry for this particular problem, you'd have to contact cakewalk tech support for this.  and since it's MC Pro, they probably don't support it any more, but you can try if you want by emailing them to see.

Thanks to each of you for the suggestions.  I had to get my project done so I switched over to Cubase for this one.  It sounds like MC5 is the direction I need to go.
